Getting Started
Process Overview
Register
• You can get started with registering yourself by clicking on the “Register now” link and filling in the required details. Once registered, you can now login with your newly made username and password.

Add sites
• Once you log in to your account, you will be directed to the Member Sites webpage. Now click on the “add a new website” link and fill in your website details, specifically mentioning the type of link exchange you are interested in, a three-way or reciprocal, as can be seen in the snapshot.

Select a site
• To start with the link exchange process, you will first have to select a particular site, for which you want to carry forward the link exchange.
• Once a site is selected, all further processes will be specific to that selected site,through the “Site Manager”.
Start Link Exchange
• Once you are on the Site Manager web page, click on the “Find Link Exchange Partners” option and select a category within which u want to exchange links.
• After selecting a particular category, you will enter our related “Link Exchange Directory”, where you can browse through and select sites.
• You can then, send out requests to the selected sites, by clicking on the “Send Request” option.

Send Request(s)
• While on the “Send Request” page, you will get a link code of the selected site(s). Copy this code from the Link Diary webpage, and Paste it on your website, specifying that particular URL on the Link Diary page
• Upload that page with the specified URL of your website, on your server.
• The link exchange process will be completed once your chosen link partner also adds your link code on to his website.

View Link Request History
• You can now, view all the details related to your website from the “Site Manager” page, such as your Link Exchange History
Payment
• If you are a free member and have not paid for the site you want to exchange links for, then you will only be allowed to send 10 link requests per day, per site.
• You can also enjoy unlimited Link Exchange by becoming a paid member with Link Diary, where in you have to pay for individual sites, one at a time only.
Link Exchange campaigns
Link Popularity is the term to describe how popular and recognized you are, on
the internet. Search engines consider links from other websites to
yours and from your website to theirs, as a credibility vote from
them. Also, if you link to a website, which has the same theme as
yours, then it is considered as a Quality link, and the more quality
links you have, the more credible your website is. Link Building helps
your website get popular with the search engines, in turn, increasing
your Search Engine Ranking. Higher Page Rank is another reason why
Quality Link Building is important for your website, as it attracts
more traffic, hence increases its popularity.
Three way link exchange
Three-Way link exchange is a cultivated term
used to describe a type of Link Exchange process in which, three
sites are involved in a series of three one way links between them.
This is usually done when you own two websites (A) and (B), and
you link your website (A), to your link partners site(C), while
in return, your link partner links his website(C) to your site (B).
It means that site (A) is linking to site (C) and in return, site
(C) is linking to site (B).
This type of Link Exchange has an added benefit of acting like
a One Way Link Exchange, which is given a lot of weightage by the
search engines, today. And is the best way to increase the Page
Rank of a new website you are trying to promote.

Reciprocal Link Exchange
The term reciprocal, itself conveys the meaning
for this one. Also known as a Two Way Link Exchange process, Reciprocal
link building process can be described as a process in which, your
site links to your link partners’ site and his site links
back to yours.
This type of Link Exchange process contains more weightage when the
sites you are linking with, are related to the theme of your website.
This is mostly for the reason that there is a much better opportunity
of your products or services gaining popularity through the visitors
which come to your site through a link on a related website, and are
therefore more targeted.
Site Manager
Just as its name suggests, site manager administers your account
and site settings. This is the main monitor, through which you can
keep a check on all the settings, specific to your selected site.
• Monitor your link exchange stages
This link stores the history of all your link exchanges, providing
you with the detailed information related to any particular link
exchange.
Waiting for my approval
This link acts like an inbox for you, storing link requests you
receive from other link diary members. So from this list, u can
select the sites with which u want to exchange links and hence complete
the link exchange. The period for replying to a link exchange request
is 30 days, after which it expires, and the unanswered requests
will be rejected and automatically removed from the list. Those
requests will be moved to the “rejected links” list.
Waiting for their approval
This link will give you a list of all the sites with whom you have initiated the link exchange process. It will also show you the number of days left for the link exchange partner to reply.
Completed Link Exchanges
This link will show you the successfully completed link exchanges, along with the link out URL and the date on which it was completed.
Rejected Link Exchanges
This will show the rejected link exchange requests, along with the link out URL and the date on which it was rejected.
• Monitor your Links on Link partner's sites
After successfully completing the link exchanges with various sites, chosen from the linkdiary.com directory, you now need to keep track, of whether these sites still have your links added to their sites or not?
And you can do so through this link, which will show you the status, of all the completed link exchanged sites. You may then, send a reminder request to the ones you are interested in. You will be allowed to send only 3 reminders for each site. Per day one request is allowed.

• Upgrades
There are two upgrades available for the membership of linkdiary.com, and these are:
Pro:
From the Basic membership, you may upgrade to the Pro membership and avail all the benefits of a paid membership,
with the most important advantage of being able to send any number of Link Exchange requests each day, with a minimal amount of
monthly fees.

Sponsored:
The sites which are under the sponsored category will have the benefit of being listed on the top of the directory Listings, and these will then, be randomly rotated. The added advantage of being a Sponsored member is that you will be placed on the top of the directory listings, hence giving more prominence to your sites.
• Account services
Link Exchange Permissions
With the help of this option, you can set the permissions for individual link categories, from which you don't want to receive any Link Exchange requests.
If no permissions are set, then a member from any category will be able to send a link exchange request to you.

Email Alerts
If you don’t want to receive any emails alerts from linkdiary.com, then you have an option, where in, you can set these alerts to an “Off” mode, through this link.
Edit Website Information
If at any time, you want to edit or update your website information, then you can do so easily, through this link.

Pro:
By opting to upgrade your site for a Pro membership, you will have the benefit of availing all the facilities of a paid
membership, and most importantly, you will be able to send any number of Link Exchange requests each day.

This is free membership, in which you avail the benefit of sending maximum 10 link requests per day, from within our linkdiary directory, absolutely free and for as long as you want.
